In 1999, MaShifeng founded the seed production company JiuQuan Jiuzhou Seeds Co., Ltd.

What we offer
One of the most important features that distinguishes Jiuquan Jiuzhou Seeds Co., Ltd. from other seed production companies is that, almost all required manipulation of hybridization, harvest, seed extracting and seed cleaning is done by hand, using man’s eye and judgment. Hand working prevents possible seed damage thus ensures a high success rate, high yields and high quality products.
Besides hand working is done by our contract farmer and grower, to improve the efficiency of, our company is also equipped with some seed-cleaning machines. In recent years, the seed extraction production line in the tomato paste factory has bee proved as a safe and high quality method to process type tomato seed extraction. For big quantity contracts, we no use such machine extraction to reduce our cost and guarantee the quality.
Protection of genetic material is the most important thing in the production of seeds. As our contract farmers and growers have been working with us for several years, they well understand the principals of genetic ownership and anyone who goes against to the protection of genetic material will be expelled from the seed production group. Meanwhile, contract seed production under customers’ demand is the sole business of Jiuquan Jiuzhou Seeds Co.,Ltd., we don’t sell any seeds except those surplus of over-production with customers’ consent.
For hybrid seed production, we usually plant male seedlings in our own plastic house while those of female are grown in grower’s field. Currently we are studying some new genetic protection method like cryo-pollen hybrid seed production, which adopts cryopreservation of pollens.
